Wine and spirits distributor CornerStone Wine has helped raise $5,200 for the Singapore Indian Education Trust (SIET) through its “Thanksgiving by CornerStone” event.
The company, which celebrates its 85th anniversary this year, came up with the idea for an event to celebrate Thanksgiving and in that spirit, raise funds for a charity of its choice. The entry fee of $100 for each attendee of the dinner and wine session was donated entirely to the charity.
Clinton Ang, Managing Director of CornerStone Wine, has been a supporter of the annual SIET Charity Golf event for the last 10 years.
He said: “It is such a privilege for CornerStone to contribute to such a meaningful charity. Our founders started from humble beginnings and nothing would mean more than to give back.”
Jayaprakash Jagateesan, chief executive officer of RHT Holdings Group and SIET committee member, said: “We are immensely grateful to our event partner CornerStone for joining hands with us in this noble endeavour. Together, we have not only raised funds from the guests who attended the event, but also shed light on the incredible work being done by SIET to support Indian students in their educational pursuit.”
He added: “These initiatives by SIET, together with our community partners not only make a significant impact on the lives of these students but has also created a ripple effect of awareness and compassion within our community.”
