SUMMARY:Secondary 1 Starters: Encouraging Positive Change in Children
DESCRIPTION:About this Programme \nNo matter how old your children are\, your praise and encouragement will help them feel good about themselves. This boosts their self-esteem and confidence. Sometimes rewards can be useful too\, especially if you want to encourage good behaviour. \n  \nDoing P.E. in our everyday interaction with children is important. It is the fastest and most effective way to bring about positive change in our children\, using Search Institute’s 6 Praise Pointers and exercising the 5 As of encouragement. \n  \nParents\, join us in this talk specially arranged for you and get tips on how you can build your child’s self-esteem\, encourage good behaviour in them and how all these can help them when they are transitioning to secondary school! \n  \n*While you attend this talk\, your children can attend a Holiday Dance Workshop* \n  \nThere is no doubt that children love to dance and have no hesitation about throwing themselves around the room\, jigging and shuffling to the music with no care about how they appear. There are more benefits to dancing than just having fun. Hip-hop dance encourages you to let the music move you\, often providing opportunities to freestyle and improvise. This is a great way to develop your child’s creativity. The opportunity to express yourselves is also a great outlet to blow off steam and rebalance emotions. \n  \nParent-child Activity \nAfter the session\, parents and children will be brought to BOUNCE Singapore for fun and games! Do not miss out on this opportunity! Grip socks will be provided. \n  \nProgramme Schedule: \n\n10:15am – Registration\n10:30am – Parenting Talk and Children Workshop at SINDA\n12:00pm – Lunch\n1:00 pm – One-way transport to BOUNCE Singapore\n4:00 pm – End of activity – Dismissal from BOUNCE  Singapore\n8 Grange Road\, #09-01 Cineleisure\, Singapore 239695\n\n  \nNote: All participants will be provided with lunch \n  \nFees: Fully subsidised for eligible participants with a family PCI of $1000 and below. \n  \nEligibility: Open to all Indian children aged 10 to 13\, who are Singaporean Citizens or Permanent Residents. \n  \nEnquiries: Ms Harshini | T: 1800 295 3333 | E: queries@sinda.org.sg \n  \n
