Little India Trail & Banana Leaf Lunch

This Pongal Village Trail takes you through lively streets in Little India, where you’ll see traditional celebrations come to life — from colourful pongal pots to festive cattle. Witness how Little India transforms its streets to honour this celebration.
The trail ends with a village-inspired vegetarian banana leaf lunch, bringing the flavours of the harvest straight to your table. The meal will be at Anandha Bhavan Restaurant.

Menu Items
- Sakkarai Pongal (Sweet Pongal) & Ven Pongal (Savoury Pongal): Pongal is a dish of rice cooked in boiling milk.
- Sambar: A lentil-based vegetable stew or spiced curry, flavoured with a unique blend of spices and a tangy tamarind broth.
- Rasam: A spicy South Indian soup-like dish.
- Yogurt
- Kootu: A combination of vegetables and lentils that form the dish
- Poriyals: A sauteed or stir-fried vegetables and greens
- Vadai: A savoury, deep-fried snack, primarily made from soaked and ground lentils
- Appalam: Thin, crisp, disc-shaped type of papadum, that is made from lentil or rice flour
- Pickles & Chutneys
- Lime Drink
Please do note that dairy, peanuts and wheat may be present in the meal, and we are unable to cater for any food allergies.
Things to note:
- Trail participants are to arrive at IHC at least 15 minutes earlier for registration.
- In case of wet weather, please bring along a poncho/umbrella.
- Only ticket holders will be allowed on the trail.
- One Admission ticket admits one participant for the trail.

- One Admission ticket permits 1 pax, regardless of age.
- By agreeing to join the workshop, each participant shall be responsible for any injury, loss, or damage due to carelessness or other actions on his/her part or that of the children under his/her charge.
- The workshop will start on time, so do come 15 minutes before.
- Photographs may be taken for marketing and publicity purposes.
- We do not accept cash payment.
- No refunds or exchanges of tickets are allowed under any circumstances, except in the event of workshop cancellation by IHC.

- We are unable to cater to walk-in registrations.
- If you are unable to locate the museum by the event’s start time, please keep your phone on standby so we can contact you for further instructions.
- If the workshop has to be cancelled due to unforeseen reasons, participants will be informed via email (a few days before the workshop) and SMS (2 hours before the workshop).
- Participants will receive a full refund in case of workshop cancellation via Peatix.
